What this tool does
SVG is vector: it stores how to draw, so it scales to any size without blurring — but chat apps, Word and most avatar pickers refuse it. This tool rasterises an SVG into PNG or JPG at a scale you choose, sharp enough for print and avatars.
Conversion happens in your browser: the engine validates and normalises the SVG (filling in missing width/height), then canvas draws it into a bitmap. Nothing is uploaded and no server is involved.
How to use
- Drop an SVG file Standard SVGs with width/height work, and so do viewBox-only ones (sized from the viewBox).
- Choose format and scale PNG keeps transparency; JPG is opaque and fills transparent areas with your chosen background colour. 2x or more suits print and large avatars.
- Auto re-render and download Changing format, scale or background re-renders automatically — no need to re-upload. Download when it looks right.
FAQ
PNG or JPG?
PNG for icons, line art and transparency; JPG for photo-like content or smaller files (transparent areas get the background colour).
What scale should I use?
1–2x is fine on screens; for print estimate 300dpi (a 2-inch-wide icon needs 600px). Higher scales mean bigger files — 8x is usually overkill.
Why did my text disappear?
SVG-as-image does not load external fonts. Convert text to outlines/paths in your design tool, or embed the font as base64 inside the SVG before converting.
Why is my transparency white in JPG?
JPG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas are filled with the JPG background colour (white by default); use PNG if you need transparency.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Validation, drawing and export all happen in your browser; the SVG never leaves your device.
Limits
Single .svg input up to 20MB; no SVG optimisation and no raster-to-vector (reverse) conversion.
Scripts inside the SVG never run and external fonts / images are not loaded — inline your resources first.
An SVG without width/height or viewBox has no determinate size and errors out instead of guessing.
