What this tool does
Resizing supports three modes: scale proportionally to fit inside a box, fill the box and crop from the centre, or stretch to exact dimensions.
Typical uses are meeting platform requirements (400×400 avatars, 1200×1200 product shots) or shrinking photos for sending. All in your browser.
If you are resizing to pass a platform upload check, first confirm whether it demands “longest edge no larger than” or “exactly this size”. The first case works with fit; the second needs fill-and-crop or stretch, otherwise the dimensions simply will not match. For square avatar frames, fill-and-crop also guarantees the subject is not squashed.
How to use
- Drop one or more images PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 50MB each; you can select several at once for batch resizing.
- Pick a mode and size Use fit to avoid distortion; fill crops the edges; stretch changes proportions.
- Download JPEG stays JPEG; everything else becomes PNG. The file name gets the correct extension automatically.
FAQ
Which mode avoids distortion?
Both fit and fill keep proportions; only stretch changes the shape.
Can upscaling make an image sharper?
No. Upscaling interpolates; it cannot create detail. Use a larger original or reshoot instead.
What gets cropped?
Fill crops from the centre: the overflowing side of the longer edge is cut away.
What format is the output?
JPEG in, JPEG out at quality 90; PNG and WebP input become PNG output.
How many images at once?
Batch is supported. Drop several images; once resized they are delivered as a single ZIP — JPEG sources become jpg entries, everything else png.
Is my image uploaded?
No — all processing happens inside your browser.
Limits
Up to 50MB per image; target size 16–8000 px; batch supported, multiple images output as a ZIP.
No interactive crop box, no rotation or background removal.
