What this tool does
IP Lookup shows the public IPv4/IPv6 address of your current network, with optional geolocation (country/region/city) and ISP details.
Full disclosure first: this is the only networked tool on the site. Any IP lookup inherently sends your public IP in the request — there is no way around it. This site stores nothing.
How to use
- Click "Detect my IP" By default the tool asks ipwho.is, returning IP and geolocation in one request, with an 8-second timeout.
- View or copy the result Behind carrier NAT or proxies you see the egress IP, not the device LAN address.
- Automatic fallback on failure If ipwho.is is rate-limited or unreachable, the tool automatically falls back to ipify for the IP only (no geolocation).
FAQ
Why does this tool need network access?
Your public IP only exists server-side; lookup must ask a server. It is inherent, and the page says so clearly.
Is my lookup stored?
This site stores nothing; the chosen service handles requests under its own privacy policy.
Why is this not my device IP?
It shows the public egress IP. LAN addresses (192.168.x.x etc.) never leave your network.
Why is the geolocation wrong?
IP geo databases are statistical; VPNs, proxies and carrier NAT point results at the egress city. Reference only.
What if the lookup fails?
Usually ipwho.is rate limiting or local network issues. The tool automatically falls back to ipify for the IP; if both fail, retry later or refresh the page.
Can I look up someone else's IP?
No. It only shows the egress IP of the network making the query — no third-party IP probing.
Limits
Network required (8s timeout); shows the public egress IP only, no LAN addresses.
Geolocation comes from the ipwho.is third-party database with limited accuracy; no reverse DNS or port scanning.
If ipwho.is is unavailable, the tool automatically falls back to ipify for the IP only (no geolocation).
